CIT Salunke gets prestigious ‘CBDT Certificate of Meritorious Services’

 

 

On The occasion of the 166th Income Tax Day, celebrated on July 24 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, Sandipkumar Salunke, Commissioner of Income Tax (Admin. & Taxpayers’ Services), Nagpur, was conferred with the prestigious ‘CBDT Certificate of Meritorious Services’ by Union Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman. This honour was conferred in recognition of Salunke’s exemplary contributions to public service, particularly his transformative initiative - ROOT (Return to Origins and Organized

 

Transformation) - which has benefitted over 8,000 farmers through rejuvenation of rivers, ponds, and natural streams, and large-scale ecological restoration via forestation. His work has set a benchmark for integrating environmental stewardship with inclusive development. Within the department, Salunke has notably strengthened the compliance framework by conceptualizing systemic deterrents to parallel financial flows and designing identification methodologies that bolster transparency and institutional efficacy. This distinguished recognition marks a significant milestone in his illustrious career and is a moment of pride for the Income Tax Department, Nagpur, whose officers continue to uphold the values of excellence, innovation, and service to the nation.
