‘Dynast in Delhi, Bittu in C’garh’

In a blistering political salvo ahead of Sachin Pilot’s Chhattisgarh visit, BJP legislator Purandar Misra tore into the Congress party, branding its state-wide protest against the ED as ‘a family-centric gimmick’ shielding the former Chief Minister’s son, not the people of Chhattisgarh.

“A dynast in Delhi, and Bittu in Chhattisgarh-is this the future Congress wants to show the nation?” Misra asked, questioning the core political values of India’s grand old party. Referring to the liquor scam probe, Misra said the Congress’s so-called ‘economic blockade’ was less about public interest and more about rescuing Bhupesh Baghel’s son, who has been arrested by the ED for allegedly laundering Rs 16.70 crore into real estate from a Rs 1,000 crore corruption trail. “Shockingly, this protest wasn’t about any ideology or public welfare-it was a desperate PR exercise for a leader’s family member who doesn’t even hold any post in the party,” Misra remarked. Accusing the Congress of eroding its own legacy, the BJP MLA quipped,

“A 140-year-old party now reduces itself to family protectionism-nothing could be more tragic.” He also took a direct swipe at Pilot, saying his presence in Chhattisgarh was only to validate this very family-centric politics. “Is this how you serve Bharat?” he asked rhetorically. Misra further alleged that Congress hired labourers on daily wages to create a crowd for its blockade but failed to pay them. “Some of them later created a ruckus over unpaid dues. At the very least, Sachin Pilot should ensure they’re paid,” he said. He called the entire spectacle a political farce, asserting that the Congress’s loyalty now lies with individuals, not the public.
