IIM Nagpur celebrates 10 years of excellence

 

 

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur celebrated its 10th Foundation Day, marking a decade of transformative contributions to management education and leadership development. The event brought together faculty, staff, students, alumni, and well-wishers from across the country. The celebration began with the inauguration of a new Pickleball Court by Director Prof. Bhimaraya Metri, symbolizing IIM Nagpur’s continued commitment to student wellness and holistic growth through sports and recreation.

 

A special highlight was the felicitation of seven staff members who have been with the institute since its inception, completing 10 years of dedicated service. Their contributions were recognised as the foundation upon which the institute has grown. On this special occasion, Prof. Metri also unveiled a Coffee Table Book capturing the institute’s decade-long journey of excellence, milestones, and memorable moments, serving as a visual chronicle of IIM Nagpur’s growth and impact. During his keynote address, Prof. Metri said, “In 2021, we successfully launched both our Executive Education and Ph D programmes, and in 2022 we introduced the Executive MBA in Pune a significant milestone that extends our impact beyond Nagpur.”

 

He added with pride, “Our campus has also achieved a GRAHA green building rating, thanks to its energy-efficient design and sustainable infrastructure an acknowledgment of our commitment to environmental responsibility.” In a community outreach initiative, 79 students from 18 schools across Nagpur visited the IIM Nagpur campus to participate in educational and creative competitions. Events such as the drawing competition and impromptu speech were held to foster creativity, expression, and early exposure to a higher education environment. Sujit K Sharma, Dean-Research, and Lt. Col. Alur (Retd.), Chief Administrative Officer, also expressed their views, highlighting developments in ongoing initiatives and outlining future directions. The celebration was not only a tribute to past accomplishments but also a bold statement of intent for the future, as IIM Nagpur continues to grow as a hub of ethical, inclusive, and globally relevant management education.
