Bringing immense pride to Madhya Pradesh, Dr Rajkumar Patel, a veterinary scientist from Rewa, has been awarded a Gold Medal for his outstanding research in veterinary science. He received this prestigious honour from President of India, Draupadi Murmu at the 11th Convocation Ceremony of the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh).
 
Dr. Patel, who currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Rewa, affiliated with Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University, Jabalpur, was recognized for his Ph.D. research titled “The Need, Benefits, Challenges, and Solutions of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs)”. His work has been hailed as highly relevant and impactful in the fields of agriculture and rural development.
 
The grand convocation was graced by prominent dignitaries including the Governors of Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Dr. Patel’s research focused on empowering farmers through Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), aiming to enhance their economic strength, market access, and self-reliance. The study is seen as a significant contribution not just to veterinary science, but also to agricultural economics and rural progress.
Dr. Patel’s journey from a rural background to being honoured by the President of India stands as a beacon of inspiration for countless students across the country. His story proves that with dedication, hard work, and perseverance, one can reach the pinnacle of academic and national recognition. Dr Patel said, “This honour is not mine alone, it belongs to my mentors, my college, university, and the prayers of my family. This medal is dedicated to the farmers and livestock keepers from whom I drew inspiration.” The achievement was widely celebrated by Prof. Mandeep Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of NDVSU, along with the Dean, faculty members, and academic community from across the nation, who extended their congratulations and best wishes to Dr. Patel for his remarkable accomplishment.
