STF Jabalpur busts drug trafficking racket, nabs three with 120 kg ganja

 

 

 

In a major crackdown, STF Jabalpur busted drug trafficking racket, apprehending three members and seized 120-kg ganja from them. The arrested have been identified as Shivam alias Indra Bahadur Singh (27), resident of Bartara village, Budhar tehsil in Shahdol district, Karan Singh (30), resident of Khwaja Nagar, Sohagpur in Shahdol and Pradeep Kumar Patel (34), resident of Sigudi village, Manpur in Umaria district. Inspector Ganesh Singh Thakur and Inspector Nikita Shukla of the Special Task Force (STF), Jabalpur, have successfully busted an organized drug trafficking gang involved in the illegal transportation of ganja. The STF team seized approximately 120 kilograms of ganja and arrested three accused, including the kingpin of the gang.

 

Following directives from Special Director General of Police, STF, Pankaj Kumar Shrivastava, to identify and act against organized crime networks, the Jabalpur STF executed this operation under the supervision of SP STF Rajesh Singh Bhadoria and AIG Naveen Kumar Choudhary and the leadership of DSPs Kalyani Warkade and Santosh Tiwari. The STF received a tip-off about a silver Swift Dzire car without a number plate travelling from Manpur Tala towards Umaria, suspected to be carrying illegal ganja for sale. Acting on the information, STF team set up a checkpoint near the Tala Forest Department Barrier, along with independent witnesses. STF team intercepted the vehicle and found three men travelling in the car. Upon inquiry, they identified themselves as Shivam alias Indra Bahadur Singh, Karan Singh and Pradeep Kumar Patel.

 

During a search of the vehicle, STF officials found four black plastic sacks in the car. Upon inspection, these were found to contain brown packets filled with ganja. The accused confessed to the crime, admitting the contents were indeed ganja. The STF conducted a legal seizure of the material and initiated further proceedings. The STF team members who played a pivotal role in the operation include Inspectors Ganesh Singh Thakur, Nikita Shukla, Sub-Inspectors Munendra Kaushik, Gopal Vishwakarma, ASI, Vinu Varghese, Head Constables Nirmal Patel, Anjani Pathak, Constables Rajan Pandey, Anand Pandey, Nilesh Dubey, Govind Suryavanshi, Praveen Bawariya, Rahul Rajak, Rahul Yadav and Driver Constable Rahul Raghuvanshi.
