Youth pays the price of online gaming addiction with his hand

Online gaming addiction proved dear to a youth as he had to lose his hand while playing the game. In Ghampaur area of Jabalpur, a young man was so engrossed in playing the game on his mobile while sitting on the side of a railway track that he did not notice the train coming and his hand got badly damaged after colliding with the moving train. He was immediately admitted to Orthopaedic Department, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical Hospital, where doctors had to amputate his right hand. This painful incident has once again exposed serious hazards caused due to online gaming addiction. According to the information, 30-year-old Rajkumar Shripal, residing close to Bridge no.2 of Ghampaur, was sitting with his friends besides a railway track.
 
He was playing a popular game on his mobile. He was so engrossed in the game that he did not realize that a fast moving train passed by him. The young man was so unaware that his right hand collided with the outer part of the train. The collision was so severe that his hand was badly crushed and he fell there bleeding. After the accident, locals and young man’s family immediately rushed him to NSCBMC Hospital, where he was admitted at the Orthopedic department. Dr Ashok Vidyarthi, HoD, Orthopedic, informed that when the patient was brought to the hospital, the fingers of his right hand were badly crushed and the lower part of the hand was also severely damaged.
 
The injury was so deep that it was impossible to save the hand. Seeing the seriousness of the situation and to avoid infection and other complications, the doctors decided to operate immediately. After the successful operation, the doctors were forced to amputate the lower part of the young man’s right hand. This incident is a heart-wrenching example of serious consequences of growing addiction to online games like PUBG. This is not the first time that such horrific accidents have happened due to online gaming.
