Stage symbolic protest by playing flute in front of the buffalo

On the second day of the Monsoon Session of Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Congress legislators protested playing the flute in front of a buffalo representing Government turning blind eyes towards people’s issue. Along with this, Congress also performed a street play. Braving heavy rain, Congress legislators, led by Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, staged demonstrations near Mahatma Gandhi’s statue in the Assembly premises. In a symbolic gesture coinciding with Nag Panchami; a festival when snakes are worshipped, the MLAs carried flutes, traditionally used by snake charmers, to signify that the ruling BJP government has become deaf to public concerns.

Two MLAs arrived in the Assembly dressed as buffaloes, in front of whom all the Congress MLAs including the Leader of Opposition kept playing the flute. During the street play, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar asked questions about many problems one by one in which the buffalo kept denying their question. Levelling allegation on Mohan Yadav Government, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar alleged that the Government is not listening to any class. Youth are not getting employment. Crimes are on the rise. OBC reservation is not being given. Regarding all these issues, we have protested today by playing the flute in front of the buffalo. On the first day of the session, Congress leaders had reached the Assembly with a symbolic chameleon. During this, the Opposition raised slogans. Along with this, the BJP government was accused of changing colours like a chameleon.
