The claims of development in the Kanhiwara area of Seoni district have once again come under question. The unpaved road connecting Rampuri and Katia village has turned into a swamp during the rainy season. Due to this, the villagers and especially the school children are facing a lot of trouble. The condition of the Rampuri-Katia road is clearly visible in the pictures and videos that have surfaced. The rain has turned the kutcha road into a swamp of mud and water. This has become a big challenge for the children going to school through this route. They have to pass through this muddy road daily.

This not only makes their uniforms dirty but there is also a risk of injury. Fed-up with the problems, the school children themselves have made a video of this road and made it viral on social media. In the video, the children are showing the plight of the road. Along with this, they are also highlighting their everyday problems and the demand for a better road. The children said that this road should be constructed as soon as possible. Rampuri villagers Raju Chandravanshi, Ramprasad Chandravanshi and Sunil Chandravanshi said that about half a kilometer of road from the village to Katia has not been constructed. Due to this, this road turns into a swamp every year during rains. Due to this, farmers face problems in going to the fields, villagers face problems in going to Bhoma market and school students face problems in going to Kanhiwada school.

Due to the swampy road, minor accidents also keep happening every day. An average rainfall of 705.7 mm has been recorded in the area since June 1. This rain has worsened the situation even more. According to the information received about the tehsil wise rainfall, from 1st June till now, 657.4 mm rainfall has been recorded in Tehsil Seoni, 373.0 mm in Kurai, 500.7 mm in Barghat, 893.8 mm in Keolari, 767.5 mm in Chhapara, 644.1 mm in Lakhnadon, 692.4 mm in Dhanora and 1117.9 mm in Ghansor, thus a total of 5645.9 mm rainfall has been recorded.
