TO SHOW their solidarity, the public sector general insurance workers in Nagpur wore black badges and held demonstrations at the Regional Office of National Insurance Co Ltd, Sadar on Tuesday. The agitating workers expressed their solidarity and extended their full support to the day long dharna organised by the general insurance employees at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi. The call for the massive day long dharna was given by Joint Forum of Trade Unions (JFTU).
In Nagpur, employees wore black badges while working in the office and during lunch recess they held demonstrations in front of Regional Office of National Insurance Co Ltd, situated at Fidwi Tower, Mount Road, Sadar. After the demonstrations a gate meeting was addressed by Rajendra Saroj and Suhas Thul.
While, Bhushan Deshmukh conducted the meeting.
Chandrakant Deshpande, Prajwalit Satpute, Rohit Shivhare, Prasad Pokle and Yogesh Junghare took efforts for the success of demonstration in the city. The aggrieved employees demanded wages on the lines of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), uniform family pension of 30% and employers contribution of 14% to National Pension System (NPS). Inspite of heavy rain large number of PSGI employees participated in the dharna. Also, ‘Aam Aadmi Party’ MP Sanjay Singh and AITUC General Secretary Amarjeet Kaur visited the dharna and extended their support to the agitations of PSGI employees. To extend solidarity PSGI employees all over the country wore black badges and held demonstrations at all the centres.
