Entry of tourists has been stopped in the core zone of Pench National Park in Seoni district. Like every year, this year too the core area will remain closed till September 30 during the monsoon. On Monday, a crowd of domestic and foreign tourists was seen at Turiya and Karmajhiri gate. Safari was affected due to intermittent rain. Visibility of wildlife was also low. Now tourists will be able to do safari only in the buffer zone. Pench Tiger Reserve Director, Rajneesh Singh said that patrolling, beat, uplifting, road construction and maintenance work will be done during this period.

He said that the number of Indian and foreign tourists has increased in this tourist year. Pench Tiger Reserve is characterized by its lush green forests, diverse terrain and rich wildlife. Celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar and Azharuddin have come here. Recently cricketer Suryakumar Yadav has also expressed his desire to come again. According to the data, the number of tourists has increased in five years. While 1.03 lakh Indian and 190 foreign tourists came in 2020-21, this number has increased to 1.71 lakh Indian and 13,127 foreign tourists in 2024-25. The core area is an original area that conserves wildlife and natural resources, which is highly protected. The buffer zone surrounds the core area.
