City shuttlers made it to the main draw of the ongoing Under-15 and U-17 Yonex-Sunrise All India Sub-Junior (U-15 & U-17) Ranking Badminton Tournament 2025 at Bengaluru. The meet is organised by Karnataka Badminton Association.
Vaishnavi Manglekar, Sara Peshkar, Sharayu Rewaskar, Mayank Rajput and Sanvi Ghate made it to the main draw of the event in different categories and events.
Vaishnavi defeated Kimkim Khongsai of Assam 11-15, 15-11, 15-03 in the U-17 girls singles
category.
In U-15 category, Vaishavi played well but lost the qualifying final to Manasvi Suragani of Andhra Pradesh 15-12, 08-15,
04-15.
On Saturday, Vaishnavi will play the first match of U-17 girls singles main draw against Nidhi Atmaram of Karnataka.
Sara, partnering with Sharayu Rewaskar defeated Adithi BS and Tiara Muralidhar 15-9, 13-15,
15-10 to make it to the main draw in girls U-15 doubles category.
In U-15 doubles category, Mayank Rajput and Sanvi Ghate beat Mohd Affan Shaikh and Rabiya Shaikh 15-6, 15-8 to move up while in U-15 mixed doubles, Mayank partnering with Pratham Raut of Palghar defeated Aarav Dogra and Maanas Allu 15-9,
11-15, 15-8.
Vaishnavi practices under the guidance of coach Amit Raut and Mohan Wahare at Divisional Sports Complex Indoor Stadium, Mankapur and also at District Sports Office’s Khelo India Centre under the guidance of coach Ajay Dayal.
Sara, Sharayu, Mayank and Sanvi practice under Kunal Dasarwar at Dhanwate National College Indoor Stadium.
