Following heavy rainfall on Friday morning, Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh along with Mayor-in-Council members and senior officials conducted an inspection of many areas to examine the situation and interact with residents. During the visit, Mayor Singh spoke with citizens and assured them that the city has seen significant improvement in rainwater management over the past two years.

 

e said that while over 100 complaints used to be registered during monsoon seasons in previous years, this time only 15 complaints were received despite the heavy rainfall. He said, all of them were promptly resolved to provide relief to the public. The Mayor also visited several sensitive and previously waterlogged areas across divisions 1 to 16. He informed that due to enhanced cleanliness drives and improved drainage arrangements this year, those areas did not witness flooding. He credited the improved rainwater disposal systems for ensuring that no major waterlogging occurred in the city this time.
