Use of AI can boost agri production : Gadkari

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Sunday said that the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced farming techniques can significantly enhance production of sugarcane, soybean, cotton, and oranges in Vidarbha region.
While addressing a special workshop organised by Agrovision Foundation on the use of AI technology in sugarcane farming, Gadkari further emphasized the need for farmers to adopt new technologies, training, and research to increase production and reduce costs.
The workshop was held at NBBS Hall in National Bureau of Soil Survey and Land Use Planning (NBSS&LUP) on Amravati Road in the city. A large number of farmers and others took part in the event.
Gadkari highlighted the importance of creating a knowledge transformation chain to facilitate this process. The Union Minister also stressed the need for farmers to get a good price for their produce and for the establishment of godowns and cold storage facilities.
Gadkari concluded by emphasizing the need for farmers to adopt new technologies and techniques to increase production and income. The workshop was followed by a question-and-answer session, where Gadkari interacted with farmers and addressed their queries.

He demonstrated the practical applications and benefits of AI technology in increasing productivity and farmers’ income. Dr Bhoite stated that Vidarbha farmers can benefit from AI technology, which can be used to enhance sugarcane, soybean, cotton, and orange production.
A delegation of progressive farmers from the Vidarbha region will soon visit the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in Baramati to learn new methods of farming and use of modern technology. Dr Bhoite said that the visit will help the farmrs further imporve farming in the region.
Agrovision Foundation Chairman Ravindra Bortakar, Dr C D Mayee, Anand Rao Raut, Ramesh Mankar, Sudhir Dive, Dr Samay Bansod, Bhujaram Kapgate, Anil Joshi, Jaikumar Verma, NBSS Director Dr Nitin Patil, and Dr Kalantari were present at the workshop.
