Postmortem report exposes shocking truth, both accused in custody

A paralysed man was murdered by his wife and her lover in Tarodi Khurd area under the limits of Wathoda Police Station. The crime was carefully planned by the accused and an attempt was made to hide it, but the truth came out after the postmortem report. The deceased has been identified as Chandrasen Balkrishna Ramteke (38), a resident of Sainath Society, Tarodi Khurd. He was paralysed for the last one-and-a-half years and was completely bedridden. Chandrasen had earlier worked as a manager in a travel company. He is survived by his wife Disha Ramteke (30) and three young children - two daughters aged 11 and 9, and a 6-year-old son, according to police. To support the family after Chandrasen’s illness, Disha learned to drive and started selling cold water cans from home. She used to deliver these cans to various shops and offices.

During this time, she met Asif Raja Ismail Ansari alias Rajababu Tyrewala (28), a resident of Raj Nagar, Wathoda. Their friendship quickly turned into a love affair. About three months ago, Chandrasen caught Disha and Raja in an objectionable situation. After discovering the affair, Chandrasen became furious. He argued with Disha and regularly taunted her about her character. Their relationship grew bitter over time. Unable to tolerate this, Disha shared her problems with Raja. Both of them then decided to kill Chandrasen and live together freely. On Friday afternoon around 2.30 pm, Raja came to their house. Chandrasen was lying on the bed. Disha sat on top of him and held his hands, while Raja pressed a pillow over Chandrasen’s nose and mouth. They suffocated him to death. After the murder, Raja fled the house.

To avoid suspicion, around 5 pm, Disha informed the neighbours that Chandrasen’s health had worsened. He was taken to the Government Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Chandrasen’s brother Sanjay Ramteke (50) and other relatives reached the hospital shortly after. Meanwhile, rumours of Disha’s affair had already spread in the locality. Neighbours suspected foul play and informed the police. A postmortem was conducted and the report revealed that Chandrasen died due to choking. This raised further doubts, said police. Upon strict interrogation, Disha broke down and confessed that she, along with her lover Raja, had murdered her husband. The police immediately arrested both of them. A case of murder has been registered, and both were produced before the court on Sunday. The court has sent them to police custody for three days. A police official said that the biggest concern now is the future of the three innocent children, who have lost their father and now their mother is in jail.
