Under the aegis of Digambar Jain Social Group ‘Main’, Jabalpur, a plantation drive was carried out amidst light rain. As many as 350 saplings including 50 each of bamboo, khamer, teak and neem and 30 each of lemon, guava, amla and mango were planted with enthusiastic participation.
A drawing competition on the theme of ‘Environmental Conservation’ was also organised during the event. A large number of children used their creativity to spread awareness through colours and brush strokes.
The programme commenced
with a Mangalacharan (auspicious invocation).
As the Chief Guest, Abha Satyendra Jain, Joint Commissioner, GST Jabalpur emphasised the importance of trees, saying, trees never take from nature, they always give. She said every human must learn from them and resolve to contribute selflessly to society, using capabilities for the greater good.
Special Guest Manoj Jain, President of Mahakoshal Vindhya Region lauded the spirit of service shown by the group members and participating couples.
Group President Mulkraj Badsha Anjali Singhai, Secretary Sachin Kirti Jain and Treasurer Pradeep Seema Jain coordinated the competition. Children showcased their talents in the drawing competition, focusing on environment and water conservation. Winners were also felicitated by the guests.
Dr Yatish Jain conducted the proceedings of the programme while Santosh Manisha Jain proposed a vote of thanks.
