Combine team of Tilwara Police and Crime Branch arrested two notorious thieves and retrieved gold and silver jewelleries from them. The arrested have been identified as Yasin Ali alias Assu (49), son of Tahsin Ali, resident of Supatal Azad Nagar Pahadi in Garha and Ranjit Soni (37), son of Ravishankar Soni, resident of Harai Yadav Colony, Ward No. 13, Harai police station area in Chhindwara district.
According to Tilwara police, on May 29, 2025,
complainant Rakesh Rajput (19), a resident of Avni Vihar, Tilwara, lodged a complaint that his locked house was broken into and gold earrings, silver anklets, toe rings and a motorcycle MP-15NL-2937 were stolen.
Police had registered a case under Sections 331(4) and 305(A) of BNS.
Through CCTV footage analysis, police identified and apprehended Yasin Ali, who confessed to committing the theft along with Ranjit Soni.
They also admitted to a series of thefts at 6–7 locations in Narsinghpur (Kotwali, Gadarwara), Seoni (Lakhnadon), Raisen, and Jabalpur districts, stealing property worth lakhs.
On their indication, the stolen gold and silver jewellery from the Tilwara case was recovered. Yasin Ali was also found to be wanted in 10 permanent warrants issued by various courts. Both accused have been produced before the court.
The thieves were apprehended with active working of police team led by SHO, Tilwara Brijesh Mishra comprised of SI Abhishek, ASI Hargovind Patel, Head Constable Jayashankar Chauhan, Constables Sunil Parwari and Rajesh Gupta, Crime Branch SHO Shailesh Mishra, ASI Dhananjay Singh, HC Rajesh Mishra, Virendra Singh, Constables Rajesh Matre and Trilok Pardhi.
