IN A significant development,
Maharashtra Chief Minister
Devendra Fadnavis along with
Gan Kim Yong, Deputy Prime
MinisterofSingapore andJeffrey
Siow, Minister of Transport for
Singapore, presided over the
MemorandumofUnderstanding
signing and exchange between
theGovernmentofMaharashtra
and Manipal Health Enterprises
Pvt Ltd and Temasek at Navi
Mumbai.
This collaboration aims
to establish a350-bedmulti-specialty hospital in Nagpur, with a
proposedinvestment of up to Rs
700 crore, expected to create
approximately 3,000 direct
employment opportunities.
District Collector of Nagpur Dr
Vipin Itankar signed the document on behalf of MaharashtraGovernment.
The hospital will be a multi specialty facility, providing a
range ofhealthcare services to
thepeopleofNagpur.GanKim
Yong, Deputy Prime Minister
of Singapore, and Jeffrey Siow,
Acting Minister for Transport
alongwithDevendraFadnavis
played a key role in facilitating this partnership, highlighting the growing ties
between India and Singapore
in the healthcare sector.
While talking to ‘The
Hitavada’ aseniorofficial said,
“Theplacehasnot finalised for
setting up this hospital.But as
per primary indications, the
hospital is likely to come in
MIHAN area.”
Gan Kim Yong, who is also
the Minister for Trade and
Industry in Singapore, has
beeninstrumentalin fostering
economic relationships
between Singapore and other
countries. As the Chairman of
the Singapore Economic
Resilience Taskforce, he has
worked to address immediate
challenges and develop longtermstrategies tosupportbusinesses and workers.
