PLAYWELL, led by father and son duo of Raja and Amit Rewatkar and Kumra brothers Neeraj and Sanjeev, clinched SD Joshi Memorial Open Duplicate Tournament organised by Vidarbha Bridge Association in their sports complex at Shankar Nagar. Nagpur finished runners-up. Their team included Puranik brothers Vishnu and Arun, M Mor, H Bhave and M Luley.
More than 50 bridge players from Vidarbha region participated in three different events. Team Anil emerged victorious in pairs progressive event.
Their team consisted of S Chhajjed, R Deshpande, Samir Roy and Anilkumar Mohota. Team Axis that consisted of
S Hastak, M Dutta and Mulla
brothers Sajid and Ali finished second.
In IMP pairs event, Rewatkars once again bagged top honours. S Patni and M Hararwala duo walked away with second position. In MP pairs event, M Mor and Arun Puranik emerged victorious. R Deshpande and M Dutta clinched runners-up position. Sudhir Iyer and Amit Rewatkar were the tournament directors for this brain game. Attractive cash prizes were awarded to all the winners.
