The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Nagpur Branch Office, successfully conducted a comprehensive training programme for the Traffic Police Department at the Police Headquarters, Nagpur, recently. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 150 traffic police officials.
 
Dr Ravinder Singal, Commissioner of Police; N D Reddy, Joint Commissioner of Police; and Lohit Matani, DCP Traffic, were present on the occasion. The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Hemant B Ade, Director, BIS, who underscored the importance of standardization in advancing road safety and highlighted the vital role of the traffic police in ensuring compliance with quality standards. Sandesh Gokanwar, Joint Director, BIS, gave a presentation on the functioning of BIS. Isha Khurana, Standards Promotion Officer, BIS, conducted a live demonstration of the BIS CARE App. This initiative reflects BIS’s ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration with law enforcement agencies.
