BHILAI,
This rare honour is reserved for outstanding achievers from across country. Asmi led her team ‘Coding Wizard’ to victory at the Smart India Hackathon 2024, held at NIT Srinagar
In a proud moment for Chhattisgarh, Asmi Khare, a bright young talent from the Steel City of Bhilai, has been extended a prestigious invitation to attend the ‘At Home’ reception hosted by the President of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan on August 15.
This rare honour is reserved for outstanding achievers from across country and recognises Asmi’s leadership and innovation in the field of technology.
Currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg, Asmi led her team ‘Coding Wizard’ to victory at the Smart India Hackathon 2024, held at NIT Srinagar. The team developed a Geolocation-Based Attendance System for GAIL India, enabling seamless GPS-based attendance without manual intervention.
Under Asmi’s guidance, the team integrated key features such as offline attendance support for areas with limited and a Hazard Alert System—a critical tool allowing GAIL site workers to immediately report emergencies via a mobile app, ensuring swift action.
The innovation was praised for its real-world applicability, user-friendliness, and technical depth. Team members included Yashvardhan Singh, Vipin Kumar Gautam, Pratham Sahu, Mayank Deshlahara, and Jatin Kunjam. Asmi is one of only seven team leaders across India selected for this exclusive invitation.
A recipient of multiple awards at both state and national hackathon events, Asmi continues to make Bhilai proud. Daughter of Anil Khare and Smita Khare, she expressed her excitement and gratitude, saying, “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I’m proud to represent my city as well as Chhattisgarh state on such a grand stage.” At the ceremony, Asmi will join other exceptional achievers and will have the opportunity to interact with the President of India, marking a milestone not only in her academic journey but also in the legacy of youth innovation from Chhattisgarh.
