‘Looteri Dulhan’ Samira held by police after cheating more than a dozen men

 

 

 

The Gittikhana Police have finally arrested Samira Fatima, also known as Samrala alias Seema - a woman dubbed as the “Luteri Dulhan” (Robber Bride) — who has been cheating and blackmailing men by marrying them and then demanding money. She had been absconding for nearly a year. Samira was caught at a tea stall in the Civil Lines area after police set a trap. She has allegedly duped more than a dozen men, including professionals like bank managers and businessmen. According to the police, Samira first trapped a bank manager by claiming to be a divorced school teacher. They met through a matrimonial website and got married.

 

Soon after, she began blackmailing him and demanded Rs 50 lakh to leave him. When he could no longer take the harassment, he filed a complaint at Mankapur Police Station. Even after that, she continued her frauds. She trapped Ghulam Gaus Pathan, a travel businessman, through Facebook. After marrying him, she allegedly took money by making false accusations. Eventually, she filed a rape case against him. Ghulam then approached Gittikhana Police with all the evidence. A case was registered, and after nearly one year of search, Investigation Officer Sharda Bhopale arrested her. The court has ordered that Samira be kept in police custody for three days.
