In a significant development for the healthcare infrastructure of Betul, the Madhya Pradesh Government has announced the establishment of a new medical college alongside a comprehensive upgradation of the existing District Hospital. The project will be executed through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, with RKDF Group as the private collaborator. Chairing a high-level review meeting at Mantralaya, Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla stated that this initiative marks a historic step towards strengthening healthcare delivery in the region. He emphasised that while the administration and control of the District Hospital will remain with the Government, the private partner will assist in expanding services, adding critical manpower, and installing advanced medical technology. The current 300-bed hospital in Betul will be transformed into a 675-bed teaching hospital, equipped with modern medical equipment such as Cathlab, CT Scan, and MRI machines.

Alongside, a new hospital campus and associated infrastructure - including hostels for students and residential quarters for staff - will be developed over a 25-acre site. Deputy CM Shukla directed officials to fast-track land allocation and formal clearances to ensure timely execution. He affirmed that the upgraded hospital will not disrupt existing services but rather enhance diagnostic, treatment, and emergency care capabilities in the region. RKDF Group will submit a Detailed Project Report (DPR) within 90 days, outlining the timeline, architectural layout, investment details, and quality standards. The new hospital will be developed in line with National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines and will seek accreditation from the National Accreditation Board.

Environmental and biomedical waste management norms will be strictly adhered to. Local MLA Hemant Khandelwal highlighted the urgency of launching the project and assured that any local-level challenges would be addressed on priority. He said the people of Betul will benefit greatly from modern and accessible health services once the project is operational. The project also aims to introduce MBBS and postgraduate medical courses in the coming academic session, ensuring that Betul not only gains in healthcare access but also becomes a hub for medical education and training in the region.
