HOSTS Nagpur Amateur Sporting Association (NASA) boys made a promising start to the Sub-Junior (U-13) Inter-Club District Basketball Championship with a thundering win in their opening match on Thursday at its Surendra Nagar courts. In the Sub-Junior (U-13) Inter-Club District Basketball Championship, NASA boys thrashed Hanuman Nagar Krida Mandal (HKM) B 44-2 to make a superb start. In the one-sided battle, NASA’s Sarthak Borkar scored maximum 20 points while Aarham Jain scored eight as they dominated the quarters with ease. The quarterwise score read 20-2, 10-0, 8-0, 6-0. Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Sadhan Bose.

 

On the occasion, NDBA working President Pranay Ghate, senior member Ajit Bhave, Anup Maske, Narendra Katole, Abhishek Pandit, Pranay Bhagat and others were present. From this selection tournament the Nagpur district 12-member boys and girls teams will be selected for the State championship scheduled at Solapur from September 10 to 15. RESULTS: GIRLS: Spartan (Anvi Navghare 3, Aahna Wadekar 3) bt NBYS 11-1 (2-1, 2-0, 5-0, 2-0); GKM (Aradhya Maske 15, Swara Raut 10) bt ESKM (Arya Kohale 8) 41-14 (10-6, 12-2, 13-4, 6-2). BOYS: NASA (Sarthak Borkar 20, Aarham Jain 8) bt HKM-B 44-2 (20-2, 10-0, 8-0, 6-0).
