14-yr-old student’s demise: Admn sends team to Tribal Boys Hostel in Hardulikalan

Following the demise of a 14-year-old student, the district administration has sent a team to the Government Senior Tribal Boys Hostel in Hardulikalan. The deceased, identified as 14-year old Rajkumar Dhurve, a resident of Biltukari village, reportedly succumbed to his illness while en route to the District Hospital, Jabalpur. According to District Collector Deepak Saxena, 14 students at the hostel complained of cough and cold on August 20, 2025.
 
Three of these students also had fever and stomach pain. All 14 children were initially treated by hostel staff and subsequently sent home for further care. Meanwhile, health of Rajkumar Dhurve, one of the students sent home, deteriorated, leading his family to take him to a Government hospital in Kundeshwar Dham on August 21. After receiving treatment, he was referred to the District Hospital, but he passed away on the way. Additional Collector Nathuram Gond, to the Hardulikalan hostel for health check of all 22 students currently residing there. A medical team confirmed that all children at the hostel were in good health. Medical teams also approached the remaining eleven students who were sent home on August 20. Two of the fourteen children had already returned to the hostel and were found to be healthy. The authorities are in regular contact with the remaining students’ families and assured to move these children to the District Hospital for treatment if required. It may be mentioned that 33 of the 46 registered students of Government Senior Tribal Boys Hostel in Hardulikalan, were in residence as of August 20. The district administration is consistently monitoring the situation and implementing all necessary preventative measures.
