Father-son duo arrested for murder in Bhilai

 

 

 

A father and son duo was arrested in connection with a gruesome murder at Shyam Nagar, Camp-2 in Bhilai. The accused, identified as Sudhakar Mahure (50) and his son Dhana Mahure (24), residents of the same area, allegedly stabbed a man to death following a long-standing enmity. Police sources informed that the incident occurred around 7:30 pm on Thursday when the victim, Sonu Rao, was confronted outside the accused’s residence.

 

A heated argument soon escalated, during which Sudhakar allegedly stabbed Sonu Rao in the abdomen with a sharp-edged knife, leading to his death on the spot. Both accused were taken into custody and, during interrogation, Sudhakar reportedly confessed to committing the crime along with his son. They have since been sent to judicial custody. ASP Padmshri Singh Tanwar stated that the shocking crime was the fallout of an old rivalry between the families. Police have registered an offence against the accused under Sections 103 and 3(5) of the BNS and further investigation is under way.
