Club emerged as the overall
champions of the Nagpur
District Junior Athletics
Competition, which was held
at Rashtrant Tukadoji Maharaj
Nagpur University Synthetic
track. The three-day meet was
organised by the Nagpur
District Athletics Association
(NDAA).
Track Star athletes dominated the meet while Future
Athletics Club collected 94
points to edge
out Nav
Maharashtra Krida Mandal
(93) by just one point. In the
U-23 boys’ 10,000 metres race,
Rahul Hirankhede of NMKM
clocked 34.14.41 minutes to
clinch the gold medal. Nagpur
University’s Mohit Kore
(36.44.98) finished second,
while Ghanshyam Wagh of
Mavle Krida Mandal
(38.46.10) took the third spot.
In the U-20 boys’ 800m race,
Rudra Kurhe from
Track Star
gave a timing of 2.00.17 seconds to prevail over Namhya
Foundation athletes Sahil
Lahane (2.20.14) and Tanik
Bhonde (2.03.34).
Track Star emerge overall champs Sepak Takraw
trials today
THE Nagpur DistrictSepaktakraw Association(NDSTA) will be organisingselection trials for the 26thJunior and 25th Sub-JuniorSepak
Takraw State championship which are going to beheld at Nanded from 29-31August.
The trials will be held onSaturday at Ishwar DeshmukhCollege of Physical EducationIndoor Hall. Interested players
should report at the venue at
11.00 am.
The selection trials will be
conducted in both boys andgirls categories. Sportspersons
who are registered player of
NDSTA can appear for the
selection trials.
Any non-registered player
will not be allowed to participate in the selection trials,
informs a press release.
