The State has witnessed a widespread rain and thunderstorm activity over the past 24 hours, with many districts receiving moderate to very heavy rainfall. The highest rainfall was recorded in Badoda (174.0 mm), followed by Kolaras (156.0 mm) and Sheopur (128.8 mm). Isolated heavy showers were also reported across several districts, while only a few parts of the state remained dry.
 
The intense precipitation was accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds, affecting both eastern and western regions of the state. The State’s weather has turned significantly cooler. Maximum temperatures fell by around 2.2°C in Narmadapuram division, and several places in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, and Gwalior divisions remained below normal by up to 2°C. The coolest maximum temperature was recorded at 24.6°C in Pachmarhi, whereas Gwalior registered the highest maximum at 33.9°C. Meanwhile, minimum temperatures also saw a dip of 1.7°C in Indore division, though they rose above normal by 2.4°C in Shahdol division.
 
The lowest minimum temperature stood at 19.0°C in Khandwa and Shivpuri, while Morena was the warmest at night with 26.4°C. Thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds (ranging from 30 to 56 km/h) were prevalent, with the strongest gusts recorded at 56 km/h in Jabalpur, followed by 50 km/h in Narsinghpur and 48 km/h in Harda. Lightning was observed in many areas, increasing risk for outdoor workers and livestock. In Bhopal, the sky is expected to remain generally cloudy with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms.
 
The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 27°C and 23°C, respectively, with winds blowing at 16–18 km/h. Alert Issued: As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rain or drizzle with thunderstorms and lightning is likely to continue at most or many places across all divisions of the State on Sunday. An Orange Alert for very heavy rainfall has been issued for Sheopur, Shivpuri, Guna, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Rajgarh, Sagar, and Damoh. Meanwhile, a heavy rainfall warning is in effect for Rewa, Satna, Chhindwara, Mandla, Seoni, Dindori, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, and Gwalior among others. It indicates periods of rain and thunderstorms continuing throughout the day across the state.
 
The intensity of rainfall may vary from light to very heavy, particularly in the districts already under orange and yellow alerts. The IMD has also warned of the possibility of urban flooding, traffic disruptions, and localized power outages in low-lying areas. People are advised to stay indoors during heavy rain and avoid unnecessary travel, especially near vulnerable bridges, streams, and open roads.
