The Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare, Chhattisgarh has issued the provisional list of awardees for the forthcoming Rajya Khel Alankaran Samaroh 2025, covering the award years 2023-24 and 2024-25. Objections and claims have been invited until August 27 before the final roll is notified.
 
The provisional roll spans a broad spectrum of categories including the Shaheed Rajiv Pandey Award, Shaheed Kaushal Yadav Award, Veer Hanuman Singh Award, Shaheed Pankaj Vikram Samman, Shaheed Vinod Choubey Samman, and the Chief Minister’s Trophy. The list draws heavily from Olympic disciplines, non-Olympic formats, and para sports, reflecting the state’s widening athletic base.
 
Among the shortlisted athletes for 2023-24 are fencer Monika Sahu (Durg), weightlifter Subhash Lahre (Raipur), netball player Anup Yadu (Raipur), softball player Bhupendra Kumar Garde (Durg), and para swimmer Parmanand (Bilaspur). In the women’s category, Dipanshi Netam (Balod, athletics) and fencer Mahendra Dhurve (Durg) have been named. The Shaheed Pankaj Vikram Samman features wheelchair fencer Sita Sahu (Bilaspur), wushu exponents Karan Bharti (Balodabazar) and Priyanka Thakur (Raipur), rifle shooter Shashank Masih (Bilaspur), and table tennis player Rajeev Sahu (Raipur).
 
Hockey finds strong representation through Bhumika Upadhyay (Durg) and Khushal Yadav (Rajnandgaon). For 2024-25, the Rajiv Pandey Award includes weightlifter Gyaneshwari Yadav (Rajnandgaon), badminton player Ishan Bhatnagar (Raipur), fencer Divyanshu Netam (Durg), and swimmer Bhumi Gupta (Korba). Similarly, the Kaushal Yadav Award for non-Olympic sports lists para athlete Manas Bhattacharya (Bilaspur) and netballer Sonam Sharma (Durg).
 
Senior honours under the Vinod Choubey Samman recognise athletics veteran Prabha Husain (Durg), badminton stalwart Sangeeta Rajgopalan (Durg), and wrestling coach Gama Yadav (Durg). Notably, the Chief Minister’s Trophy for 2024-25 has been provisionally accorded to archer Sulochana Raj and teammates in the senior women’s category. According to the Sports Directorate, in certain categories no names appear in the provisional roll either due to lack of applications or because eligibility conditions were not fulfilled. The notification further states that any objection, correction, or supporting documents must be submitted by August 27, 2025, following which the scrutiny process will be completed and the final list announced.
