Police in Bhopal’s Talaiya Police Station area, near Badbuja Ghati Alok Press, raided the residence of notorious criminal Faheem Sheikh, also known as Faheem Bomb, on Thursday morning and seized approximately six kilograms of Nilgai meat. While Faheem Bomb managed to evade arrest, his son, Huzaifa Sheikh, was taken into custody. The confiscated meat has been sent for examination and has been preliminarily confirmed as Nilgai meat. Wildlife Protection Act Violated:

This incident constitutes a serious offence under the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972, as the Nilgai is a protected species. The raid has raised significant concerns regarding the operational efficiency of the Bhopal Forest Division and the Flying Squad Bhopal. Sources indicate that Faheem Bomb already has two cases registered against him in the Garhi Forest Range (Raisen Forest Division) and the Bhopal Forest Division Flying Squad, yet no stringent action had been taken against him previously. This points directly to gross negligence on the part of the Forest Department. Police Investigation Underway:

According to the police, Faheem Bomb is a known local criminal with a history of offences. Talaiya Police Station In-charge Deepak Dehriya stated that acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted the raid and recovered the prohibited meat. Huzaifa informed the police that his father, Faheem Bomb, had brought the meat. Given the gravity of the matter, a team from the Forest Department also arrived at the Talaiya Police Station, and the seized meat has been handed over to them. The Forest Department is investigating whether the accused purchased the meat or hunted the animal themselves. Police have registered a case under the relevant sections of the Wildlife Protection Act, and a joint team of Talaiya Police and the Forest Department is conducting raids at potential hideouts to apprehend Faheem Bomb.
