BJP to celebrate PM Modi’s birthday as ‘Seva Pakhwada’

An important meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was held on Monday at the divisional office to discuss preparations for the programmes to be organised on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. Addressing party workers, District President Ratnesh Sonkar informed that the central leadership of the party has decided to observe Prime Minister’s birthday as ‘Seva Pakhwada’. Accordingly, various welfare activities will be organised from September 17 to October 2. Sonkar said that during the 15-day programmes, BJP aims to connect with society through service-oriented initiatives, ensuring involvement of social and voluntary organisations.
 
He said that the Seva Pakhwada will include a cleanliness drive, a large-scale tree plantation campaign dedicated under the theme ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, free health camps, mega blood donation camps, distribution of free aids and appliances to differently-abled persons, screening of a documentary film on the Prime Minister’s life, distribution of books based on his works and achievements, a grand marathon, felicitation of differently-abled individuals for their special contribution to society, promotion of Swadeshi (indigenous) products, organisation of an MP-level sports competition, an exhibition on the Prime Minister’s life and a painting competition based on his life and work. In addition, on the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, special programmes will be held at the booth level along with plantation drives and other community-oriented events. Sonkar emphasised that the participation of party workers along with local citizens, voluntary organisations and social groups must be ensured so that the message of service and public welfare reaches society effectively. MLA Ashok Rohani and MLA Abhilash Pandey also addressed the meeting and motivated the workers for successful execution of Seva Pakhwada programmes.
