A two-and-half-year-old girl died after drowning in a drain near a farm in Chaurai village of Kindrai police station area of Seoni district. The deceased girl has been identified as Arpita daughter of Anil Netam. The incident happened when the girl went to the farm with her grandmother. The grandmother left the girl in a hut on the farm and went to work. After some time, the girl also started following her grandmother. During this time, she drowned in the water of the drain on the farm. The family searched for the girl for a long time.

 

When they looked in the drain filled with water, the girl’s body was found in a pit. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot. The police has prepared a Panchnama of the deceased’s body and sent it to the Community Health Center for post-mortem. Kindrai Police Station In-charge, Gajendra Singh Rajput said that an inquiry is being conducted by registering a case in the matter. Due to intermittent rains in the district, rivers and drains are in spate and pits are filled with water. The police has appealed to the people to be cautious. Despite this, accidents are happening due to people’s carelessness.
