CAIT Durg District Women Unit President Payal Jain along with officials met with Durg Municipal Corporation Mayor Alka Baghmar. During this, she appreciated the work being done by Mayor Alka Baghmar for the all-round development of the city and also gave many important suggestions regarding giving a new direction to women entrepreneurship. Payal Jain said that CAIT Durg Women Unit is continuously working under Swavalambhi Bharat Abhiyan. Women are being made self-reliant through various training programs and exhibitions organised by the organisation. This enables them to continuously market their products throughout the year.

 

Payal Jain urged the Mayor to start a handicraft market before the festivals by cleaning and beautifying the place behind the Hanuman temple located at Utai Tempo Stand. This will give a golden opportunity to local women entrepreneurs and home industries to sell their products. She suggested that a suitable place should be identified in the city and a permanent exhibition dome should be constructed. Where, exhibitions can be easily organised by women entrepreneurs from time to time and local handicrafts and products can be recognised at national level.

 

Jain expressing confidence that Mayor Alka Baghmar will consider this and Durg Municipal Corporation will provide support towards empowering women entrepreneurship said that with her support, not only will women be helped to become self-reliant but the economic and cultural development of the city will also get a new impetus. General Secretary Gunja Pincha, Treasurer Amina Hirani and Mohd Ali Hirani were present.
