Mrunali Poorva strike yoga golds

NAGPUR’S Mrunali Banait and Poorva Mankar won gold medals in the Maharashtra State Yogasana Championships that were held at Warora in Chandrapur district and Sangamner in Ahmednagar recently. The events were hosted by Chandrapur District Yogasana Sports Association and Ahmednagar District Yogasana Sports Association under the aegis of Maharashtra Yogasana Sports Association and Brihan Maharashtra Yoga Parishad. Mrunali’s gold medal came in the senior category in leg balance event. She also won a silver in the twisting event.
 
She has been selected for national championships to be held at Durg, Chhattisgarh from September 11-15. Poorva, who has participated in Khelo India and many national tournaments, won her gold in the sub-junior category in twisting event. She has also been selected for the national meet to be held in Maharashtra (venue not disclosed yet) later in the year.
 
Both Mrunali and Poorva are regular members of Unity Sports Association, Bapu Nagar and train under the watchful eyes of Nagpur District Yogasana Sports Association Secretary Anil Mohgaonkar. State association’s Technical Director Satish Mohgaonkar, Prakash Masurkar, Bhushan Take, Rajesh Gode, Dr Rajendra Watane, Guddu Gomase and Sandesh Khare have congratulated the medal winners and wished them good luck for nationals.
