KHARSIA
In a horrifying incident that has shocked the residents of Rajiv Nagar in Thusekela village, the bodies of four members of a family were recovered from a manure pit behind their home.
The victims, who had been missing for two days, have been identified as Budhram Uraon (44), his wife Sahodra Uraon (40), and their two young children, Arvind (12) and Shivangi (3).
The grim discovery was made Thursday morning after villagers, concerned by the family's two-day absence and an unbearable stench from the house, peered over the compound wall. They were horrified to see bloodstains scattered throughout the home and dug-up ground, which immediately raised suspicions.
The villagers quickly alerted the Kharsia police.
The bodies of all four family members were found hidden in a manure pit located close to the house. Raigarh Superintendent of Police, Divyang Kumar Patel, was also present at the site. According to SP Patel, a preliminary investigation revealed that the family was murdered with a sharp-edged weapon.
“Bloodstains were found in a house in Thusekela and four members of the same family were murdered,” he stated.
“The bodies were then taken to a nearby hill and hidden in the manure pit.”
The entire house and compound have been sealed off. New details are expected to emerge once the forensic examination is complete.
The village community is awaiting answers. The family’s eldest daughter, Shivani Uraon (15), who studies away from home, is reportedly safe and currently in the village.
