Bajaj wins LIC chess tournament

 

 

UNDEFEATED Dishank Bajaj won the 69th LIC (Insurance Week) Open Rapid Chess Tournament that concluded at NDCA Hall, Sports Complex, Dhanwate National College on Thursday. With seven and a half point form eight rounds, Bajaj emerged as a clear winner half a point ahead of second placed Vishwaditya Awasthi. Kaustav Barat, Rudra Dhole and ended with six and a half point each to take the third and fourth spots respectively. In all 105 players including 42 ELO rated players of various ages participated in this tournament. The event was conducted by Nagpur District Chess Association. Prizes were distributed at LIC Divisional Office, Kingsway, Nagpur.

 

Shrikant Gaikwad Manager (Claims), Sabastian Fernandez (Manager OS), Sambashiva Rao (Manager Estate) and P Atchuthavalli (Manager CRM) gave away the prizes. Other dignitaries present were Ajit Warudkar, Vinod Bhoyar and Abhay Pande. Chief Arbiter Pravin Pantanave was assisted by Dipak Patrikar and Dinesh Kokate.
