Investment proposals worth over Rs 967 crore were received at the Chhattisgarh Investor Connect Bastar held in Jagdalpur on Thursday, marking a major step in the region’s economic transformation. To accelerate development, the State Government has cleared railway projects worth 5,200 crore, including the new Raoghat–Jagdalpur line (3,513 crore) and the doubling of the Kottavalasa–Kirandul line.

These will boost travel, tourism, trade, and employment, while also strengthening efforts against left-wing extremism. Alongside, road projects worth 2,300 crore have been sanctioned, with new routes linking Dhamtari–Kanker–Jagdalpur via Abujhmad and Dantewada, and connecting Jagdalpur with Sukma and Bijapur. Once complete, all seven districts of Bastar will be connected through multiple modern routes, improving access to security, education, healthcare, and markets. Public sector investments are laying the foundation for industrial growth. NMDC alone has committed 43,000 crore. A 200-crore super-speciality hospital is also coming up, strengthening healthcare infrastructure. Complementing this, private investments of nearly 1,000 crore, largely in MSMEs and services, are expected to generate large-scale employment.

With overall commitments nearing 52,000 crore, Bastar is positioning itself as a new epicenter of socio-economic transformation. For the first time, Bastar will have a 350-bedded multi-speciality private hospital and medical college in Jagdalpur. Raipur Stone Clinic Pvt. Ltd. will invest 550 crore in this project, creating 200 jobs and advancing medical education. Two other hospitals - a 33-crore multi-speciality facility and Navbharat Institute of Medical Sciences’ 200-bedded super-speciality hospital (85 crore) will further expand healthcare access and create hundreds of jobs. Agriculture and food processing are also gaining momentum.

Modern rice mills and processing units are being established across Bijapur, Narayanpur, Bastar, and Kondagaon. Narayanpur-based Parshwa Agritech will produce 2,400 tonne of parboiled rice annually with an 8-crore investment, ensuring better returns for farmers. Bastar Dairy Farm Pvt. Ltd. will invest 5.62 crore to strengthen dairy production and boost rural incomes. The service and tourism sectors too are receiving a push. A 7.65-crore wellness centre in Jagdalpur will generate 30 jobs, while AS Builders & Traders and Celebration Resorts & Hotels will promote Bastar’s natural beauty and cultural heritage globally. From connectivity and industry to healthcare and agriculture, Bastar is steadily transforming from a conflict-ridden zone into a region of connectivity, prosperity and inclusive growth.
