CG institutions face penal action over Rs 11 crore EPF dues

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Regional Office Raipur, has ordered recovery of over Rs 11.24 crore in pending dues from several major establishments across Chhattisgarh for violations under the Employees’ Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952. According to the official list released, BSR Super Speciality Hospitals Limited in Durg tops the defaulters with arrears exceeding Rs 6.01 crore. Rs 1.34 cPratibha Flocon Engineering Private Limited in Durg has dues of more than Rs 38 lakh. Other establishments named include Navbharat Fuse Company Private Limited, DV Projects Limited, Bhilai Builders Private Limited, Asiya Fabricators in Durg, and Raigarh-based Canallite Facility Management Services Private Limited, all with arrears running into several lakhs. EPFO has underscored that recovery measures will invoke full penal provisions of the 1952 Act, ranging from freezing of bank accounts and property attachments (PA) to arrest of defaulting employers. Officials confirmed that since January this year, bank accounts of 65 establishments have been attached, leading to recovery of approximately Rs 49 crore.
 
Regional Provident Fund Commissioner (in-charge) Jayvadan Ingle stated that dedicated enforcement teams have been constituted to pursue recovery proceedings. He emphasised that the ongoing drive, under the supervision of Additional Central PF Commissioner (Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh) Ranganath, will continue with strict monitoring. The organisation has appealed to all defaulting establishments to clear outstanding dues without delay to avoid legal consequences. “No leniency will be shown in recovery proceedings.
