Youth injured after touching OHE at Nagpur Railway Stn

 

 

 

In a live horror that unfolded at Nagpur Railway Station, a youth touched OHE, as hundreds watched with dazed disbelief. The incident left the railway travellers disturbed as the youth attempted suicide in the most brazen way.

 

The youth, whose identity still remains under wraps, climbed atop a stationary Express train and touched the Over Head Equipment (OHE). The youth, in a moment of touching the live wire, was thrown off the train and landed on the platform with thud. As per railway officials, the incident occurred around 2.45 pm when Pune Humsafar Express was on the platform. No one knew who the youth was and how he climbed atop the train.

 

Only when the youth stood youth remained unfazed and in a flash touched the OHE, which carries 25,000 Volts current. The powerful shock threw the youth of the train roof and was almost instantly knocked unconscious. The hard landing on the concrete platform further complicated the problem.

 

The railway officials scrambled and promptly lifted the youth on stretcher. He was rushed to Mayo Hospital. The Doctors said the youth’s condition remains critical as he has suffered third degree burns. Railway Protection Force (RPF) Inspector Gaurav Gawande said the youth is under treatment in ICU. The youth’s identity is still not ascertained. A bag belonging to the youth was found but it did not help in providing any details as to his identity.
