Municipal Commissioner Ram Prakash Ahirwar reviewed the progress of ongoing and proposed development works at the Smart City office. On the occasion, departmental heads presented updates through a detailed PowerPoint presentation. During the meeting, the Municipal Commissioner examined projects related to sewerage, drinking water, street lighting, health, gardens, PM Awas Yojana, public works, NULM, establishment and hoardings. He issued strict instructions to all officials to devise concrete measures to increase the Municipal Corporation’s revenue, underlining that higher income is essential to expedited development works.

He laid special focus on the hoardings department. Ahirwar directed officials to prepare a comprehensive list of illegal hoardings across the city and present it before him. He also instructed that a revenue plan for legal hoardings be prepared to maximise income. He said at present, the JMC’s revenue is significantly lower than expected. Unless this improves, it will not be possible to speed up development works. He urged all departments to prioritise income generation. The Municipal Commissioner also instructed the preparation of a plan to generate revenue from Dumna Nature Park, while ensuring that all actions are carried out strictly in accordance with statutory procedures. He further reviewed water supply, sewerage and Amrit Yojana projects.

He directed officials to maintain high quality standards in the construction of overhead water tanks, ensure timely completion of restoration works and give special attention to household water connections. Taking up the issue of public safety, Ahirwar asked officials from the building and anti-encroachment departments to submit a list of dilapidated structures and ensure that buildings posing immediate danger are demolished without delay. He also reviewed progress under the Mukhya Mantri Adhosanrachna Yojana (CM Infrastructure Scheme), CM Monitor, Kayakalp, and CM Helpline and directed that cent-precent of the works be completed with high quality standards. He stressed the need for timely redressal of all cases received through the CM Helpline.
