NAGPUR’S upcoming shuttlers Shreeansh Naidu and Ananya Mangalekar have been crowned Maharashtra State champions at the Yonex-Sunrise Dr Sachchidanand Mungantiwar Memorial Maharashtra Mini State Selection Badminton Tournament that was held at Chandrapur.
In the U-11 boys singles category, 10-year-old Shreeansh showcased remarkable skill, determination, and fighting spirit.
In the final, Shreeansh outplayed second seed Vivaan Waingankar 21-14, 21-19.
Earlier in quarter-final, he defeated sixth seed Archit Khandeshe 21-11, 21-19 and in semis stunned top seed Rudra Manohar 21-13, 21-12 also in straight games.
Shreeansh is a player of Shuttlers Craze Sports Academy, training under Badminton World Federation certified coach Chetak Khedikar at Mankapur Stadium.
He received a medal, certificate, trophy, and cash prize for his outstanding performance.
Shreeansh extends his heartfelt gratitude to NDBA, MBA, his coach and his parents for their constant support and encouragement. Ananya’s crown came U-9 girls singles.
In the summit clash, Ananya beat Divita Kapasi from Mumbai Upnagar 21-17, 23-21.
Ananya trains at Badminton Stars Academy under the guidance of coach Mohan Wahare at Divisional Sports Complex, Mankapur.
