The corridors of time were traversed this weekend as the 1969 batch of Model High School
(now Government Pandit Lajja Shankar Jha School) convened for a heartfelt and celebratory reunion. This special event, a testament to enduring
friendships and shared history, brought together former students from various cities, including Bhopal and Jabalpur, along with their families.
The two-day reunion, held on September 13 and 14, 2025 was a tapestry of nostalgia and renewed camaraderie.
The festivities commenced with a vibrant cultural program at a local hotel, providing a stage for the alumni to connect and share stories from their lives since their school days.
The agenda extended beyond the hotel walls to embrace the rich cultural and natural landscape of Jabalpur. The alumni and their families embarked on a tour of the city's notable landmarks, including Rani Durgavati Memorial, Balancing Rock, and Sharda Devi Temple. These excursions served as a beautiful backdrop for revisiting memories and creating new ones.
The reunion culminated in
a poignant closing ceremony
at Bargi Dam, where the group
was serenaded by the melodies of their youth.
Surrounded by the serene waters and scenic views, the alumni and their families sang songs that echoed their cherished memories, effectively closing the circle on this memorable occasion.
The successful execution of the event was a collaborative effort, with coordination and support provided by a dedicated team
of alumni. The program was conducted by Arun Vishwakarma, Ravindra Nigam and Krishna Chandra with the support of Ramakant Swarnkar, Girdhar Gopal, and other colleagues, whose efforts ensured a seamless and joyous reunion for all
in attendance.
