The ongoing anti-Naxal campaign, continuous establishment of security camps in highly sensitive interior regions, the growing influence of police forces, and disillusionment with the inhuman, baseless ideology of Naxals—along with their oppression, exploitation, and discriminatory treatment of local tribal communities—led to the surrender of 12 Naxals in the presence of Superintendent of Police Robinson Gudiya and other officials. Out of the 12, nine carried cash rewards totaling Rs 18 lakh.
During interrogation, the surrendered cadres revealed shocking details. Top Maoist leaders are the biggest enemies of tribals. By projecting false promises of protecting their water, forest, and land rights, ensuring equality, and delivering justice,
they enslave the people of Bastar. Local cadres face immense exploitation, while the condition of women cadres is even worse.
Their lives have become hell, subjected to both physical and mental exploitation. Most senior leaders treat them as personal slaves, luring them with false promises of settling in cities and even abroad. All surrendered Naxals were provided a motivational amount of Rs 50,000 each and assured full benefits under the Chhattisgarh Government’s Naxal Rehabilitation Policy for a better life. SP Robinson Gudiya said, “Our prime objective is to protect the indigenous residents of Abujhmad, living in extremely challenging terrains, from the Maoist ideology and to free them from the misleading influence of extremists.
We appeal to all Maoists to shun the deceptive propaganda of outsiders, accept the government’s Surrender and Rehabilitation Policy, join the mainstream, and completely renounce arms and extremist ideology. It is time to return Abujhmad to its rightful inhabitants, where they can live fearlessly and lead a normal life.” IG Bastar Range Sundarraj P said, “In 2025, security forces have inflicted heavy losses on the top leadership of Maoist outfits. The banned CPI (Maoist) now has no option left other than surrender. We urge all Maoist cadres to immediately abandon violent activities and join mainstream society.”

The surrendered individuals, who had a total bounty of Rs 18 lakh, include two area committee members. Taking to X, Sai stated, the surrenders took place under the ‘Maad Bachao Abhiyan’ and the Government’s Niyed Nellanar scheme, which provides development and public welfare benefits to remote, Naxal-affected areas.
The Government has provided each surrendered Maoist with an incentive check of Rs 50,000 and will provide them with further benefits under the Naxal eradication policy. According to the Chief Minister’s statement, a total of 1,704 Maoists have joined the mainstream since his government took office.
The administration is working with a target to completely eradicate Naxalism from the state by March 31, 2026.
