Family members of a youth created ruckus at the district Government hospital Durg on Wednesday morning after the youth died during treatment. The youth’s relatives claimed that adverse side effects of the injection caused his death, abusing the hospital staff, and threatening to kill him. However, the hospital management has denied the family’s allegations and assured to take necessary action. On the other hand, the hospital staff also protested by stopping work in response to the family’s uproar. As per information, Prabhash Surya (23), a resident of Siddharth Nagar, had consumed rat poison on Tuesday afternoon, after which he was admitted to the hospital. Family members said his condition was stable until the night before.
 
However, he died after receiving the injection in the morning of September 17. While the doctor stated that he administered an injection to prevent gas formation and has formed a team of three doctors to investigate the case. According to reports, the young man had gotten married just three days earlier. The deceased’s mother, Pooja Surya, stated that her son had consumed rat poison on Tuesday (September 16) afternoon. The family immediately took him to the district hospital. Doctors told the family that Prabhash’s condition was stable at night. However, his condition worsened on Wednesday morning.
 
Doctors administered an injection to induce vomiting. The young man died shortly thereafter. Civil Surgeon of District Hospital, Ashish Minj, said that according to the treatment protocol, the nurse administered the medication prescribed by the doctor. Also, an injection to prevent gas formation was administered to him, which causes stomach pain. The patient had consumed rat poison. A team of three doctors has been formed to investigate the matter. The postmortem will also be video graphed. Only then will the true facts emerge. Meanwhile, CMHO Dr. Manoj Dani said that the family had mistreated the hospital staff. He has now requested an FIR be filed. Given the seriousness of the case, counselling is underway.
