MISHKA Tayade of Bhavan’s Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir Ashti and Heramba Pohane of Montfort School emerged champions in their respective U-17 DSO Lawn Tennis Tournament (Rural) that concluded on Thursday. In the Nagpur (Rural) girls U-17 singles, Mishka defeated Sharvari Shrirame of The Achievers School 10-5 for the crown. Toshita Pundir (Edify School), Tejal Singh (DPS Lava) and Tulsi Yenorkar (The Jain International) completed the final five. In boys final of the same category, Heramba was stretched to the limit by Alok Mishra of DPS Lava before prevailing 14-12. The other three to make top five were Virat Pandey (Mount Litera), Raghav Gupta (Bhavan’s Ashti), Ahilan Shamkule (DPS Kamptee Road).

 

The schools from which maximum students participated were DPS Lava and Jain International. The DSO Nagpur level tournament has come to an end. The next tournament would be for the Division level and will be held in Wardha. From the DSO, Darshana Yeotikar supervised the tournament while NDHTA’s Sandip Nannaware officiated as tournament supervisor. OTHER RESULTS (Final and Top Five) Nagpur Rural Boys Under-14: Rhythm (DPS Lava) beat Devansh Shingne (St Joseph’s Convent) 10-7. Haridhan Gupta (DPS Lava), Aradhya Gharmode (DPS Lava), Raghav Shivhare (DPS Lava). Girls: Ritika Deshpande (Mount Litera) beat Lehshikha (DPS Mihan) 10-6. Veronica Deshmukh (Bhavan’s Ashti), Aradhya Kheole (Bhavan’s Ashti), Saavi Patil (The Jain International). Nagpur Rural Boys Under-19: Armaan Patil (MKH Sancheti School) beat Abheer Warnekar (MKH Sancheti School) 10-3. Sankalp Balpande (The Jain International), Sarfaaz Parekh (The Jain International), Gagan Tawari (The Jain International). Girls: Sejal Bhutada (Saraswati Junior College) beat Swanandi Shinde (St Paul Public College) 10-4.
