Dinshaw’s Dairy Foods Pvt. Ltd., one of India’s most trusted names in ice-cream, dairy, bakery, and snacks, has welcomed the Government of India’s decision to revise the GST rates on select food products. The revision, effective September 22, 2025, will significantly lowers the tax burden across categories including ice cream, paneer, ghee, butter, namkeens/snacks, and bakery products. Dinshaw’s has confirmed that the revised GST rates will be fully passed on to consumers through downward revision of maximum retail prices (MRP), effective from September 22. The reduced GST rates will make quality food products more affordable and accessible to Indian households, thereby boosting demand and contributing to the growth of both trade partners and the economy at large. Dinshaw’s remains committed to passing on these benefits transparently to consumers.” The Goods and Services Tax reforms launched by the government are all set to reduce tax rates of a range of daily use items of consumers from September 22. The GST Council has simplified the indirect tax system into a two-tier structure of 5 per cent and 18 per cent from a four-tier structure of 5 per cent, 12 per cent, 18 per cent and 28 per cent. The GST rate reduction and rationalisation with a focus on commonman will reshapes how consumers and businesses will pay tax from September 22.
