Body of the youth who was kidnapped by Naxalites on Wednesday was found lying in Chauriya forest area, on Thursday. Deceased, Devendra Yadav, was kidnapped by Naxalites on Wednesday and later murdered Devendra Yadav accusing him of being a police informer. On Thursday, they made their presence felt by placing banners and pamphlets on the Chini to Kukra road in Paraswada police station area. Villagers found Devendra Yadav’s body, a resident of Chauriya village, 500 meters from the scene.
 
Then police reached the spot. Police sent the body for post-mortem and handed over the body to his family. Naxalites displayed banners and posters stating that after Devendra Yadav’s demise, police should now be sure that no informer will work for police. Naxalites have expressed their opposition to the special recruitment being conducted by the police, claiming that under the guise of providing employment to local youths, police are forming team of informers. It is noteworthy that the Central Government’s Home Ministry has set a deadline of March 2026 for elimination of Naxalism.
 
Police appeared to be prepared to eliminate Naxalite activities across the country, but the recent brutal murder has once again raised questions about the end of the Red Terror in Balaghat. IG, Balaghat, Sanjay Kumar confirmed the death of the kidnapped youth Devendra Yadav. Naxalites continue to be active in Balaghat district. They make their presence felt by hanging banners and posters. Recently, they did it in Jhako village under the jurisdiction of Pathri police station.
