Bhadur, Shivani bag twin titles

 

JAGAT Bhadur and Shivani ran away with twin titles as it was curtains on the DRM Cup Inter-Departmental Badminton Tournament organised by SECRSA at its Badminton Hall in Motibagh. Bahadur and Shivani claimed the singles and doubles titles in their respective categories. In the men’s singles final, Bahadur defeated Amar Dabhale 19-21, 21-19, 21-14 in three games to wrest the title.

 

Later, he joined hands with Amar Dabhale to beat the pair of Ayush Khare and Sourav Debnath who got retired hurt during the first game with the scores reading 16-14 to claim the doubles crown. In the women’s singles final, Shivani beat Jyotibala 21-9, 21-17 and then paired with Jyotibala to beat Vrishali and Vandana 21-13, 21-15 to lift the trophy. Deepak Kumar Gupta, DRM, SECR, Nagpur and Dr Nirmala Gupta were the guests for the prize distribution. Dilip Singh, Sr Sports Officer and Sr DCM SECR, Nagpur and Dr Sunita Singh were also present. Radhe Shukla, Anirudha Sarwate, Sports Secretary, Shrikant Roy, Joint Secretary, Mithesh Dahate, Owais Khan , Shafi Qureshi, Bikas Choudhary, Ramanand, Vandana Gotmare and Amit Anthony worked hard for success of the tournament.
