The prize distribution ceremony of Samrasta Kajaliya Mahotsav competitions, organised by Samrasta Seva Sangathan were held at IMA Hall. State PWD Minister Rakesh Singh was the chief guest of the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Singh said that the participation of children in such competitions strengthens cultural values. He said India is a land of festivals and every festival has its scientific and social importance. Kajaliya is deeply linked with our agricultural traditions and social harmony. Though over time people drifted away from such
festivals, the efforts of Samrasta Seva Sangathan have revived
the spirit of unity and cultural pride. Singh also lauded the fact that over 1,300 students participated in the essay competition on themes like Kajaliya and Sanatan Culture.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Richa Sharma said that the spirit of samrasta (social harmony) must reflect in all aspects of life. “In medical service, there is no distinction of caste or religion while donating blood, organ transplantation or treating patients. Similarly, society should imbibe the same feeling of equality and harmony,” she emphasised.
Special guest, Saurabh Baderia praised the activities of the Sangathan and its role in uniting different communities.
In his welcome address, Sangathan President Sandeep Jain highlighted that in the past two and a half years, the organisation has conducted nearly 80 symposiums along with festivals like Samrasta Holi and Kajaliya Mahotsav with wide community participation.
During the ceremony, the organisation also felicitated State Minister Rakesh Singh for his contribution to Jabalpur’s development. An Abhinandan Patra (felicitation letter) was presented to him.
