Union Minister Hardeep Singh
Puri, on Friday submitted recommendations for the safekeeping and a befitting display
of the“JoreSahib”,afootweareach
of Guru Gobind Singh and
his wife, to Prime Minister
Narendra Modi.
Modi said the holy relics will
inspire the future generations to
follow thepathofcourage,righteousness, justice and social harmony shownbythe 10th andlast
human Sikh guru.
After Gobind Singh’s demise,
Sikhsconsider theirsacredscripture, Granth Sahib, as their living guru.
Holy relics as significant and spiritually important
as the “Jore Sahib” are as much
a part of the glorious Sikh historyas theyareof thecultural ethos
of nation, Modi said in a post on
X. “I was very happy to receive
the distinguished and accomplishedmembersof theSikhdelegation who handed over their
recommendations with regardto the safekeeping and befittingdisplay of the immensely sacredand invaluable holy ‘Jore Sahib’of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji andMata Sahib Kaur Ji,” the PMinister said.
