To streamline traffic arrangements and ensure smooth movement in the city, the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation continued its anti-encroachment drive on Thursday under the directions of Municipal Commissioner Ramprakash Ahirwar. Senior officials Manish Tadse and Akhilesh Bhadauria informed that several teams of anti-encroachment department conducted drive on major routes, including Deendayal Chowk to Krishi Upaj Mandi Gate, Malviya Chowk to Karamchand Chowk, Navdurga Bridge to Teen Patti Chowk and up to Gwarighat.
 
The drive focused on removing temporary and permanent encroachments obstructing traffic flow. During the drive, nearly 40 to 50 handcarts and kiosks placed on footpaths and roadside areas were cleared and the seized materials were confiscated. In addition, at Lema Garden, sand, gravel, vehicles and scrap items kept along the roadside were also removed. Senior officials stated that public announcements (munadi) were also carried out, warning that if encroachers return to block traffic after repeated actions, they will face penal measures, for which they themselves will be held responsible. The drive was carried out in the presence of Red Zone In-charge Ankit Paras, team leaders J Praveen, Abhishek Samudre, Kuldeep Tripathi, Nadeem Khan, Virendra Mishra and members of the anti-encroachment squad.
